Vijayawada: As part of the efforts to strengthen the medical services to the people, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate 1068 ambulances (104/108) vehicles in Vijayawada on July 1.

The medical and health department has added more sophisticated equipment to these vehicles in order to serve the Covid-19 patients, who needs advanced life support.

These vehicles have ventilator facility, which is important for patients suffering from different ailments. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate the 1068 vehicles at the Benz Circle at 10 am on July 1.

The medical and health department started adding more equipment four months ago and now, they are ready for the inauguration. Till now, the 108 vehicles are mostly used to shift the accident victims and other patients who need emergency medical care.

However, with Covid-19 cases started reporting in the state, the medical and health department is taking measures to arrange lifesaving equipment so that even Covid-19 patients in critical condition will get medical assistance while going to the hospital.

Trained staff will be drafted in the ambulances to take care of equipment as well as the patient.

Endowments minister Velampalli Srinivas, District Collector Md Imtiaz, Commissioner of Police B Srinivasulu, Central MLA Malladi Vishnu and other officials inspected the arrangements being made for the inauguration of ambulances at the Benz Circle in Vijayawada on July 1.
