Nellore, Aug 5: Guru of Srikanth Kidambi and former state champion from Andhra Pradesh who is currently working in Nellore, Gujjala Sudhakar Reddy, demised suddenly in Poland on Monday evening due to cardiac arrest at Spodek in Katowice, Poland.

He is part of the Indian Masters Team participating at the BWF World Masters Championship in Poland. The tournament is scheduled from Aug 4 to 11.

Sources said he had played two matches and went to the room where he experienced a massive heart attack. He was alone in the accommodation and organizers observed after some time.

He earlier won the silver medal in the Badminton Masters National and a bronze in mixed doubles in 55+ category.

His wife is working as a physical director in Singareni College in Kothagudem and she started for collecting the dead body of Sudhakar Reddy from Spodek as authorities reportedly were not willing to handover the body to any others except spouse.

Sudhakar Reddy is from Guntur district.
