Chirala: The YSR Congress Party and Telugu Desam Party workers create a tension as they both start to tussle over 'Who is the eligible man to hoist the flag?'.

On the independence day celebrations, the local MLA and TDP senior leader Karanam Balarama Krishnamurthy reached the premises of tahsildar and MDO offices to hoist the tricolour.

But the former MLA and YSRCP in-charge Amanchi Krishna Mohan's followers led by Amanchi Swamulu gathered the place and raised slogans against Balaram that he is not eligible to be an MLA and cannot hoist the flag.

They mentioned that the MLA provided false details about his children and a case is filed in the court about the descripencies in the election affidavit and requesting the court to announce Amanchi as the MLA.

However the TDP workers retaliated verbally and they demanded the officials to let the MLA to unfurl the flag. As the two factions started to tussle, the police intervened and brought the situation under control.

After the consultation with the higher officials, the local tahsildar Vijaya Lakshmi and MDO Devi Rani hoisted the flags at their respective offices to avoid unwarranted events in the office premises.
