Decks cleared for a 100-day action plan for Class X students
In a move to nudge Class X students to get adapted to the new examination pattern and help them appear for it with confidence, the School Education Department is readying a 100-day action plan ahead of the final exams.
Visakhapatnam: In a move to nudge Class X students to get adapted to the new examination pattern and help them appear for it with confidence, the School Education Department is readying a 100-day action plan ahead of the final exams.
With the department doing away with the multiple-choice questions and internal assessment marks this academic year, the 100-day preparation aims at grooming the government school students to answer very short to long questions.
A 100-day special plan is all set to be rolled out from November 1 to let the children accustom to the new examination pattern. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will supply three model papers prepared for the purpose wherein enhanced focus will be laid on short, very short and essay type questions.
In addition, preparatory tests will be conducted twice, once in the first week of January and the other one in February so that students will be well groomed ahead of the final examinations.
The School Education Department officials said that subject experts and personality development trainers would be roped in to train the students for a period of over three months and motivate them to appear for the exams with ease.
"Performance of the students will be reviewed every 15 days during the action plan so that it will be customised accordingly. More attention will be paid on slow learners," an SCERT official told The Hans India.
The official further elaborated that the 100-day action plan is designed based on the reforms the state government has taken to change the landscape of the education sector.
As a part of the new pattern, an additional 15 minutes time will be provided to the candidates exclusively to go through the question paper.
Based on summative and formative assessment results, students will be categorised for the training session. SCERT officials say that a study material will be readied for the examination orientation programme and students will be trained before and after school hours.
