Eluru: Allot housing plots through the lottery, Collector R Muthyala Raju tells officials
West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has instructed the officials to allot plots intended for distribution under the housing scheme through lottery.
Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has instructed the officials to allot plots intended for distribution under the housing scheme through lottery.
He reviewed works relating to the distribution of house site pattas in Kovvur constituency here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector directed the officials to speed up the house site preparation works on top priority and treat the works as their personal work. The acquired land should be developed without any further delay and prepare layouts for the same.
After allotting the plots through the lottery system, a number should be assigned to each plot and kept ready for distribution. On a later date if beneficiaries complain about poor leveling of the plot, the concerned officials would be held responsible for the same, he warned.
He directed the DWAMA officials to develop the plots as per guidelines issued to them.
Stating that the Revenue Department has issued orders upgrading the position of Tahsildars as Joint Sub-Registrars, the District Collector said that this would enable the Tahsildars to register the plots allotted to beneficiaries of the housing scheme. As per the directive, until the distribution of house site pattas to beneficiaries by Ugadi, the offices of Tahsildars will be treated as Joint Sub-Registrar offices, he added.
Joint Collector-2 N Tej Bharat, housing project director M Ramachandra Reddy, DWAMA project director Y Ramakrishna, Kovvur division RDO Navya and others were present.
