Eluru: District Collector R Muthyala Raju has directed mandal-level officials to strictly implement the election code which came into effect immediately after Election Commission issuing notification for ZPTC and MPTC polls.
He convened a videoconference with mandal officials from Collectorate here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he directed the officials to receive nominations between March 9 and 11. Polling will be held on March 21 and counting will took place on March 24. The elections should be held in a free and fair manner and every eligible voter should be given chance to exercise franchise.
No foundation laying and inauguration functions should be organized. The contesting candidates intending to use walls of houses for campaigning should do so with the written permission from the residents, he announced.
