Kurnool: The Ulindakonda police have arrested five people in connection with a murder case and they were presented before media in the presence of Kurnool DSP, Baba Fakkruddin on Friday.

Addressing media personnel, the DSP said that on 3rd November, one Pedda Reddy of Ulindakonda was brutally murdered at Bastipadu village. A land issue between Pedda Reddy and Narla Maddilety Reddy was said to be reason behind the murder.

Narla Maddilety Reddy his wife Narla Suryakanthamma, sons Narla Sia Konda Reddy, Narla Ashok Kumar Reddy and daughter-in-law Narla Sowmya allegedly way laid Pedda Reddy and hacked him to death. After the incident all the five fled from the scene and took shelter in an unknown place.

Based on a complaint lodged by the family members of the deceased person, a case under relevant sections has been filed at Ulikonda police station. Police arrested all the five accused persons near Hundri river at Bastipadu.

Four hunting sickles and an auto were also seized. All the accused were presented in the court which sent them to remand, added the DSP. Taluka police station, CI M Srinath Reddy, Ulindakonda SI P Shankaraiah and others were present.
