MP Margani Bharat Ram has that that it is the duty of everyone in society to protect environment for a pollution free environment.
Rajamahendravaram: MP Margani Bharat Ram has that that it is the duty of everyone in society to protect environment for a pollution free environment. Planting saplings at Jawaharlal Nehru Road as part of avenue plantation in the city here on Sunday, he underlined the need to take up mass avenue plantation in the city to increase greenery as well as to protect environment.
Both central and state governments are very much particular in this regard and advised municipal corporation to involve people as well as students for the task. He also advised the commissioner to direct the corporation school headmasters to inculcate the habit of planting saplings among the students to protect environment.
Commissioner Sumit Kumar said an action plan was devised to plant as many as 700 saplings during this rainy season and so far 100 saplings were planted in Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Tilak Road and AVA Road.
Corporation officials were directed to complete avenue plantation programme as per schedule by involving all. Horticulture department is also extending its support in this regard. Horticulture officer Ramana Reddy, additional commissioner NVV Satyanarayana Rao and others were present.
