It has been a great honour for Andhra Pradesh as the cities Vijayawada and Guntur were selected for the Integrated Policy Pilot Project in sustainable development cities run by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

It has been a great honour for Andhra Pradesh as the cities Vijayawada and Guntur were selected for the Integrated Policy Pilot Project in sustainable development cities run by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). UNIDO has a total of five cities to choose from.

Along with Guntur, Vijayawada, Jaipur from Rajasthan, Bhopal from Madhya Pradesh and Mysore from Karnataka were also selected for the pilot project.

The pilot project is being implemented by UNIDO in partnership with GEF (Global Environment Facility) organizations. Under this project, Vijayawada and Guntur corporations are involved in sewage treatment plants, development of transport networks and reduction of pollution. The Center will provide a grant for this purpose. The UNIDO delegation has been touring Vijayawada and Guntur for two days.
