Kadapa: In a tragic incident two people were washed in Chitravathi river at Yalamachinthala village of Kondapuram Mandal on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Babavali (36) Chagala village of Tadiparthi Mandal Ananthapur district, SK. Anwar Basha (14) Kondapuram Mandal Kadapa district.
According to the sources the duo came to for participating in the ongoing Peerla festival at Yalamachinthala village. In this connection, they went to the river for having bath accidentally washed away in the water following the river was in spate.
Meanwhile, the number of people drowned in the streams rivers in various incidents increased up to 13 for the last one week in the district.
