Kurnool: The cops of Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) on Sunday arrested 12 persons on the charges of illegal transportation of liquor. In a press release, the officials have stated that despite the orders in force that liquor from other states should not be brought into Andhra Pradesh, several persons are violating the norms.

The people while entering the state with the Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) bottles are being caught during vehicle checks at the border check posts. The illegally transported bottles are being seized and cases also being filed on them, stated the officials in the press release.

On Sunday, around 12 people were caught with the IMFL bottles. As many as 1,107 bottles of various brands were seized and the persons were taken into custody. Apart from seizing the taking those into custody, 10 cases have been filed and 3 vehicles were also seized.

They stated the raids were conducted at various places across the district. During the raids around 142 litres of country-made liquor was seized and 1,850 litres of jaggery wash was destroyed.

In addition to liquor, 4.5 tonnes of sand was also seized and two persons were arrested and a case was filed besides seizing a tractor. The cops urged people to send the information to WhatsApp number 7993822444.
