Madanapalle (Chittoor): Final year B Tech (EEE) students−T C Ganesh, B Goutham Sai, D Chakravarthy and M Pravallika− of Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science (MITS) have developed a 'medical drone' useful to deliver critical medicines, medical accessories, goods items, blood and blood derivatives to rural health centres with the help of Global Positioning System (GPS), said MITS Principal Dr C Yuvaraj in a press meet held on Tuesday.

Students said this drone would be used to transport drugs and other essential items from one place to another during the time of natural disasters. In addition to this, the drone can be used for delivering medicines medical kit, blood and blood derivatives in the medical sector during emergencies. The college management HoD (EEE) Dr Asha Rani and Dr Vijay congratulated the students for their innovative idea which will help the society.
