Vijayawada: A two-day international conference on advances and applications of Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science organized by Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science Departments of Andhra Loyola College commenced here on Friday.
The chief guest of the inaugural day was Sri Lankan Professor Dr WG Samanthi Konarasinghe of Colombo University. The chief speaker of the programme Dr Bhavanari Satyanarayana, Professor, Acharya Nagarjuna University explained the importance, way of easy learning and scope of research in Mathematics.
Dr Ratnakar D Baka, CEO, International Multidisciplinary Research Foundation (IMRF) explained the role of international conferences in research. As many as 60 scholars presented their research papers. On the occasion, Rector P Balashowry, Principal Rev Father Victor Emmanuel participated and encouraged organisers.
Dr N Srinivasa Rao, Head of the Department of Statistics, Venugopal Rao, Head of the Department of Mathematics and T Kamalakar Raju, Head of the Department, Computer Science organised the conference. Several research scholars and lecturers from various colleges participated in the conference.
