Amaravati: MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu hit back on TDP leader Varla Ramaiah over the letters written by him to the Centre and challenged him to come for open discussion on the implementation of welfare schemes for Dalits in both the governments.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Sudhakar Babu said that the letters written by Varla Ramaiah over Dalit issues have no value and are mere tissue papers, as they are coming from the person who never stood up for the welfare of Dalit community. Ramaiah should indeed write these letters to Naidu during TDP rule over the atrocities done by TDP members. He further stated that Varla Ramaiah plays to the tune of Chandrababu Naidu, who insulted the Dalit community many times and also made cheap remarks like 'Who would wish to be born in the SC community?'.

Speaking over the remarks made by Varla Ramaiah, MLA Sudhakar Babu said that the Dalit community has banned Ramaiah for supporting Chandrababu Naidu, who made unforgetful comments on Dalits and betrayed them with false promises. "It is shameful to see Ramaiah working for Chandrababu Naidu, even after multiple insults. Even during the RajyaSabha nominations, Naidu used Ramaiah as a scapegoat and nominated him despite knowing that there is no chance of victory. He should have nominated Lokesh, rather than degrading Dalits. He remained silent over the cheap remarks by Adinarayana Reddy addressing the Dalit community, at least he should have demanded Naidu to take action against Adinarayana Reddy. But today, he is writing letters accusing the State government with false claims."

He further said that Chief Minister and thus proved himself by providing key roles to the Dalit MLAs. In a span of one year, Rs 6332.44 Crore has been spent for Dalits through various welfare schemes, where 61,26,203 got benefitted. Almost 18 per cent of the total expenditure was spent alone on the Dalit community.
