The Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has held a long match as a protest against the govt over the sand shortage and put a deadline to the government to resolve the issue in two weeks.

Former minister Mudragadda Padmanabham has expressed concern over the deaths of construction workers due to shortage of sand. He wrote to Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. The letter stated that people are having trouble getting sand. He urged that sand be given away free of charge and requested the government to drop the new sand mining policy.

However, the government says that the sand shortage will be resolved soon, and it is reported that the sand would be excavated using Robo.
