Ongole: The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) demanded that the state and central governments reduce the increased petrol and diesel charges immediately.

The AITUC leaders and members staged a protest at the Addanki Bus Stand center in Ongole on Monday.

The AITUC Prakasam district general secretary PVR Chowdary said that it is unethical on the part of central government to increase petrol and diesel prices while the public is in a severe crisis throughout the nation due to the Coronavirus and lockdown.

He alleged that though the crude oil prices are dropped globally, the governments are increasing the prices resulting in the increase in prices of essential commodities and transport.

He demanded the central and state governments decrease the taxes on the fuel so that the public can take relief from the higher prices.

The AITUC town leaders K Anjaiah, Sk Mastan, CPI secretary Sd Sardar, other leaders Ch Venkateswarlu, K Narayana, Subbarao, and others also participated in the programme.
