Ongole: Prakasam DEO VS Subbarao announced that the district administration has made all arrangements to conduct the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies Common Entrance Test in the district.
The RGUKT is conducting the entrance test for admissions in the six-year B Tech integrated course in its four IIIT campuses at Ongole, Nuzvid, Idupulapaya and Srikakulam. Candidates qualified in the CET are also eligible for admission in the 2/3 year diploma courses at Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Dr YSR Horticulture University.
Though the RGUKT used to fill the seats with the meritorious students from Class X, this year the university is conducting the CET as the government announced all SSC students pass due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. The CET was scheduled to be conducted on November 28 but was postponed to December 5, Saturday due to the Nivar cyclone.
The DEO announced that there are 7302 students taking the exam from the district and they have allotted 59 exam centres for the candidates. He said that the students should reach the exam centres by 9 am though the test will be conducted from 11 am to 1pm. He announced that they have allocated only 16 students per each exam hall following the Covid-19 standard operational procedures.
