To mark the World Environment Day, VSEZ Zonal Development Commissioner A Rama Mohan Reddy on Friday kick started the plantation drive by planting a sandal wood sapling at Divine Park and appealed to all the SEZ developers and units besides EOUs located in AP, Telangana to plant at least 5-10 saplings on their premises

Visakhapatnam: To mark the World Environment Day, VSEZ Zonal Development Commissioner A Rama Mohan Reddy on Friday kick started the plantation drive by planting a sandal wood sapling at Divine Park and appealed to all the SEZ developers and units besides EOUs located in AP, Telangana to plant at least 5-10 saplings on their premises.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy thanked all the participants for participating actively in the event and made the programme a grand success. On the occasion, 4,000 saplings of various species were planted.

Later the Commissioner, briefed the participants about the importance of environment and the impact of environmental degradation on human beings. He said corona has taught us the benefits of conserving environment by reducing human carbon footprints.

He also expressed serious concern over extinction of certain rare species from the environment. He lauded the enthusiasm of Krishna Reddy, a retired ASP, for his active participation in the plantation programme. JDC Kiran appealed to maintain the green zone status assigned to VSEZ. Jt Commissioner Prathamesh, DDC Phani, ADC Prasanna and Srinivas were present.
