Tirupati: A heated argument related to election campaign between TDP and YSRCP followers at Panapakam village in Chandragiri constituency led to clashes between the cadres on Saturday night. According Chandragiri Police, YSRCP followers were threatened by TDP followers at the village. It was alleged that TDP local leaders kept liquor bottles in the village in view of elections.

The YSRCP followers called the media channels and TDP leaders warned some TV channel employees. In this connection there were heated arguments among the groups in front of media. There were clashes between the groups. In the incident, four members from each of the two parties were injured and were shifted to Ruia hospital at midnight.

As per the instructions of Chandragiri Returning officer and Tirupati Sub Collector Dr Mahesh Kumar, Chandragiri police have booked FIR against the total 8 members from both TDP as well as YSRCP on the charges of violation of election code and for creating law and order problem.

On Sunday Sub Collector Mahesh Kumar addressing the media told that if any election rules violation happens public can complain through C Vigil app, for this people can download the application from Google Play store itself. He said that to prevent further political violence, a police picket was placed at Panapakam village as precautionary measure.
