The team members inspected the construction work of the Polavaram project spillway, bridge gates, construction of upper cofferdam, and fish ladder. The team also inspected the work of arm girders, gap 1, gap 2, etc.
The team that examined the works expressed satisfaction while the Irrigation Department officials told the Polavaram Project Authority CEO that the first gate of the project would be set up tomorrow evening.
It is known that the Andhra Pradesh government has recently asked the center to approve the revised DPRs of the project. The Union Ministry of Water Resources has approved the revised DPRs, which has to be approved by the Union Finance Ministry.
At this juncture, the arrival of a team led by the CEO of the Polavaram Project Authority to review the work of the Polavaram project has become a priority. It has been revealed that the team will be touring the East and West Godavari districts for four days. He further said that the right and left canals of land acquisition will be looked into and Rs 2,230 crore has already been released from the center. He revealed that more funds would be recommended after examining the works and bills.
