Rajamahendravaram: Two-day forest department sports meet from today
The two-day state level 25th sports meet of the Forest Department will be held on the premises of government college here on Wednesday and Thursday.
Rajamahendravaram: The two-day state level 25th sports meet of the Forest Department will be held on the premises of government college here on Wednesday and Thursday. A total 500 players of the department will participate in the meet.
Speaking to 'The Hans India' here on Tuesday, Chief Conservator of Forests N Nageswara Rao said that Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) N Prateep Kumar would inaugurate the sports meet at 9 am on January 29th. The concluding session will be held at 5 pm on January 30 followed by presentation of prizes to the winners.
Competitions will be held in 70 categories such as kabaddi, shuttle, cycling, track and field etc.
Players from Rajamahendravaram, Ananthapuram, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool, Guntur circles, Srisailam Project Tiger project and Tirupathi wildlife management circles will participate in the sports meet, he added.
All India Forest Department Sports Meet nodal officer BK Singh, Kakinda Divisional Forest Officer Nandani Salaria will supervise the sports meet. Forest Academy deputy director MV Prasad Rao will act as event manager.
The winners in the sports meet will participate in national level sports meet scheduled to be held in Bhuvaneswar, he added.
