The number of passengers travelling from town railway station are increasing day by day

Rajamahendravaram: The number of passengers travelling from town railway station are increasing day by day. As the government relaxed restrictions on rail travel, daily about 3,500 to 4,000 passengers are travelling from the station as against of 15,000 passengers per day before Covid-19 pandemic.

At present, as many as 10 daily trains and 25 non-daily trains are passing through the station and the officials are allowing confirmed ticket passengers only onto the platforms. The daily trains are running as special trains.

Shops have opened on all three platforms and their sales have also increased. Taxi and auto drivers are also happy with the increase of passengers.

The railway authorities are expecting that the number of passengers will increase during the Sankranthi festival.
