Kurnool: S Ravindra Babu took charge as new Commissioner of Kurnool Municipal Corporation on Sunday and held a meeting with the departmental heads of the corporation. Addressing on the occasion, he said the officials have to infuse confidence among the people that their problems would be resolved without delay.

Ravindra Babu said he has the working experience for a period of two years in Kurnool and expressed pleasure for becoming commissioner to serve the people. ``Drinking water problem is severe under Kurnool Corporation limits.

We will work out a plan to overcome the water crisis. We will hold discussions with the staff of irrigation department, and then take to the notice of district collector, political leaders and to the government. All the staff of the corporation has to work in cooperation,'' he said.

The Commissioner directed the engineers to continuously monitor the supply of water tankers to tail end colonies and at the residential areas in the town. The civic chief further said the officials of town planning, revenue and sanitation have to take part in the works being undertaken by the corporation to mitigate drinking water problems. He has also said to ensure transparency at the interviews being conducted for ward volunteers. Applications received during Spandana have to be resolved by giving top, he added.

Prior to the meeting, the heads of departments welcomed him by handing over flower bouquet. Deputy Commissioner, G Ravi, Municipal Engineer (ME-1), Surendra Babu, ME-2, Ramana Murthy, Manager, Chinna Ramudu, Superintendents, Israil, Gangadhar, Prasad Goud, DEs, AEs, Sanitation and other departmental staff were present.
