Anantapur: Practicing yoga regularly and systematically can significantly improve one’s health, said Zilla Parishad Chairperson Boya Girijamma. She was speaking at the ‘Yogandhra Mass Yoga Program’ held at MYR Kalyana Mandapam on Ballari Road, Anantapur town, on Saturday. The event was organised under the supervision of the District Panchayat Raj Department as part of the ongoing Yogandhra monthly celebrations.
Addressing the gathering, Chairperson Girijamma emphasised the importance of preserving and promoting yoga, a part of India’s rich cultural and traditional heritage, among future generations.
DM&HO Dr EB Devi stated that daily yoga practice helps individuals stay happy and healthy while reducing the need for hospital visits. She urged everyone to register and actively participate in the upcoming International Yoga Day on June 21.
District Panchayat Raj Officer Nagaraju mentioned that the program was conducted as per the directions of the District Collector. He encouraged citizens to dedicate at least 45 minutes daily for yoga and meditation, which he said contributes to a peaceful and joyful day.
