Visakhapatnam: The second sub-junior and cadet District Taekwondo Tournament witnessed encouraging response with a participation of 150 children from 15 schools across the city.

Organized by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Public School in association with District Taekwondo Association, the tournament concluded on Monday with the prize distribution ceremony.

Winners walked away with medals and a trophy. Participation certificates were given to all by K Thimma Reddy, secretary and correspondent of Visakha Valley School. Laying emphasis on holistic education, he encouraged the students to excel in every field they step into.

While Yelamanchili Taekwondo Club bagged the overall championship winners' trophy, Marvel School bagged the runners-up trophy.The valedictory was attended by chairman of The Olympic Association T S R Prasad, vice-president of Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association D S Varma, president of District Taekwondo Association, Visakhapatnam P Atchuta Reddy and Secretary of Visakhapatnam District Basketball Association B. Ramayya.

Principal Shimpy Kumari addressed the gathering and appreciated the winners, participants, coaches, teachers and parents for the teamwork.
