SPMCW secures MCI recognition for five years
The medical college secures nod for admission of 150 students every year for the MBBS course. SVIMS Director T S Ravikumar thanks the State govt and TTD management for their support.
Tirupati: The Board of Governors, Medical Council of India (MCI), granted recognition to SVIMS- Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (SPMCW) for annual intake of 150 MBBS students.
In the orders issued on March 13, the MCI granted recognition for a period of five years, renewable thereafter.
In a press release here on Saturday, SVIMS Director-cum-Vice Chancellor Dr T S Ravikumar thanked the State government for sanction of financial resources for construction of buildings, equipment and infrastructure and also TTD management for allotting additional 50 acres of land for the medical college and extending all their services to support the recognition of MBBS programme enabling it getting the much needed MCI recognition.
The MBBS programme was started with the permission of MCI during 2014-15 academic year and from then, every year renewal permission was granted to admit the students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th batches uninterruptedly.
SVIMS Director congratulated the Principal, SPMCW, and all members of SVIMS faculty & staff for reaching this goal.
"We have high expectations from our ambassador batch, to be ambassadors for change.
During their internship, SVIMS will emphasise thorough grounding in resuscitation of severely ill and training in various facilities like BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardia Life Support), Trauma life support/FCCS Training (Fundamental Criticial Care Support), continuous learning & critical thinking through RCA/M&M concepts, socratic style pedagogy in clinico pathologic conferences and modular teachings in Quality/ Patient Safety," Ravikumar said.
