Paying tributes to Prakasam Panthulu along with municipal corporation commissioner Sumit Kumar in connection with his 147th jayanthi celebrations at Fortgate here on Friday, he said Prakasam Panthulu also worked as municipal corporation chairman in the city who created new systems.
As Chief Minister he strived for the welfare of the people and stood for values and was a glaring example for simplicity and honesty. There is a lot to learn from the great personality.
Urban MLA Adireddy Bhavani said Prakasam Panthulu is a torch bearer to society whose life was an example to all, mainly to the students. He challenged the British to shoot him as part of freedom movement. It is the time to know about the great persons such as Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu, she said.
Corporation commissioner Sumit Kumar said he is great freedom fighter as well as a great person who sacrificed everything and plunged into freedom movement like a great warrior. He underlined the need to tell about him to the students.
