Tirupati: Demanding Rockman Industries to reinstate the 250 employees, who were recently removed from service, CITU organised a dharna at RDO office here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, CITU district general secretary K Murali said that Rockman Industries near Tirupati illegally removed 250 employees from service. Despite the state and Union government issued orders strictly against removal of any employees in view of the critical time of prevailing pandemic, Rockman management ignoring the stipulations removed the 250 employees leaving their families in lurch. It was atrocious on the part of company which is enjoying government concessions including free land, rebate in various taxes and power charges for promoting industries for employment of locals removing its local employees.

He criticised MLA B Madusudhan Reddy, who he allegedly spoke in favour of Rockman Industries aggrieving the employees who were thrown on the street.

Murali warned that CITU would intensify the stir districtwide if the

management failed to take back immediately the employees removed.

CITU city leader T Subramanayam, AITUC district secretary P Murali and leaders of various trade unions and mass organisations also participated, expressing solidarity to the removed employees.
