Tirupati: SVMC to implement Ayushman Bharat
The Community Medicine Department of the college will implement the programme.
Apart from SVM College, Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, is also chosen to implement Ayushman Bharat programme as a pilot project.
Tirupati: Ayushman Bharat programme AP State Coordinator Dr P Rajendra Prasad and his team has visited SV Medical College (SVMC) on Wednesday to examine the amenities available in the college.
The College along with Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, were chosen to implement Ayushman Bharat programme as a pilot project and to extend super specialty services as well as primary healthcare to the needy and will act as hub and spokes for the district.
The Community Medicine department of the college was chosen to implement the programme.
Dr Rajendra Prasad committee evaluated the amenities to conduct telemedicine programme and the available doctors, paramedical staff and others to extend medical services down the line.
In-charge Principal of SVMC Dr GV Ravi Prakash expressed happiness that the prestigious project has been allotted to the Community Medicine department which will be extremely useful.
He assured that they will take all steps to extend quick health services to poor by coordinating with primary and community healthcare centres.
All the required infrastructure will be provided soon to the college. Dr Gopi Krishna of department of Community Medicine will act as nodal officer of the programme. Vice Principal Dr Vasudhara Devi, Dr Ashok Kumar and Dr Vasudeva Naidu participated.
