Vizianagaram: The temple authorities of Pydithalli temple have selected the tree which will serve as Sirimanu. The locals believe that the deity would appear in the dream of temple authorities and indicates where the tree is located.

As per the indications, the temple authorities and people would go to the tree and it will be cut and the trunk will be shifted to Vizianagaram town to mend it as Sirimanu. The identified tree is located at Ramavaram village in Gantyada mandal in Vizianagaram district.

On Saturday, the officials and locals have visited the tree and offered poojas. The tree would be cut on September 30 and the festival will be organised in a grand manner.

Thousands of people will participate in the event. Even the owner of the tree feels proud as it is a great opportunity for them to offer the tree to Goddess Pydithalli.

Meanwhile, the Endowments Department officials organised Pandiri Raata programme on Saturday which marks the beginning of festivities at the Goddess Pydithalli temple. The mega event Sirimanu Sambaram will be held held on October 15.
