Vijayawada: The TDP and YSRCP are using all their efforts to win the two seats, Pamarru and Gudivada constituencies by taking the election as prestigious. The native villages of TDP founder and former chief minister NT Rama Rao and his wife Basavatarakam are under the purview of Pamarru constituency while NTR was elected twice for assembly from Gudivada for the first time in his political career also.

Hence, the TDP leadership feels that the victory is very important to the party. Moreover, previously NTR native village Nimmakuru and his wife native village Komaravolu were in Gudivada constituency limits. But the two villages are included in the Pamarru constituency in the delimitation process. But the YSRC won both seats in the last elections. Pamarru MLA Uppuleti Kalpana joined the TDP though she won on the YSR Congress ticket in the last election.

Now she is in the election race on TDP ticket when YSRCP leadership determined to defeat her to take revenge. Similarly, Kodali Nani won on the TDP ticket twice but joined YSRCP later. Thus the TDP is very particular about the victory in the constituency. Pamarru is an SC reserved constituency. Uppuleti Kalpana won with marginal votes in the last election against TDP candidate Varla Ramaiah.

The TDP leadership realised that Varla Ramaiah's personal attitude was the reason for his defeat. Later, Uppuleti Kalpana joined the TDP. This time she is contesting on the TDP ticket. In this backdrop, the YSR Congress party gave ticket to K Anil Kumar. As a result, now there is a tough fight between the two candidates when the YSRCP has taken it as a challenge to wrest the seat.

On the other hand, the TDP and YSRCP are in a tug of war in Gudivada constituency. YSRCP sitting MLA Kodali Venkateswara Rao and TDP candidate Devineni Avinash are contesting in the constituency. The TDP is making keen efforts to wrest seat. TDP won seven times in the last 10 elections. The incumbent YSR Congress MLA Kodali Nani also won two times on the TDP ticket. Later, he joined YSR Congress.

TDP feels that Kodali Nani cheated the party though it had replaced former MLA Ravi Shobhnadri Chowdary family members who have been very close to NTR's family just for the sake of Kodali Nani. In this backdrop, the TDP fielded youngster Devineni Avinash, son of former minister the late Devineni Nehru.

Now he is fighting against the sitting MLA candidate using all his efforts. Nehru's followers are working hard to win the seat though Kodali Nani emerged as strong candidate during the last 15 years. As per the reports, the contest is very close and speculations are doing rounds in political circles differently on the prospects of two candidates.
