Police seize ganja packets from the car in which the students were travelling

Kothvalasa (Vizianagaram): Two engineering students lost their lives when a car in which they were travelling hit a lorry.

The mishap occurred at Kothavalasa of Vizianagaram in the early hours on Sunday. R.Srinivasa Rao, Inspector of Kothavalasa, informed that Vinay kumar (20), a student of Andhra University Engineering College and S Sathvik Naidu, student of GITAM University (20) went to Araku along with their friend K Mithun on Saturday evening by a car.

They spent all the day at Aaraku and were coming back to Visakhapatnam in the same car.

As they were heading towards Visakhapatnam at a high speed, they hit a lorry which was coming in the opposite direction. Both Sathvik and Vinay Kumar died on the spot while Mithun sustained serious injuries and he was admitted to hospital.

Later, police searched their car and found some ganja packets. The police suspect that the students were habituated to ganja trafficking.

They were going at a high speed to reach Vizag soon and handover the packets to some persons in the city.

The police booked a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem. Police suspect that ganja smugglers are luring the students and offering some money to them to transport the product in vehicles.

Students looking for quick money to spend on luxuries were getting caught in their trap.
