Union Minister fetes world badminton champion P V Sindhu
Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) PK Rath and brand ambassador of RINL and world badminton champion P V Sindhu called on Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on Wdnesday.
Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) PK Rath and brand ambassador of RINL and world badminton champion P V Sindhu called on Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on Wdnesday.
The CMD was accompanied by Director (Personnel) KC Das. Lauding the glorious victory of Sindhu in the recent World Badminton Championship, the Minister termed the champion's achievement as nation's pride. Later, he wished her success in her future endeavours.
A commemorative coin issued by Government of India mint on the occasion of Nabakalebar Festival and a traditional Odia shawl were gifted to her and her father P V Ramana.
Calling her a youth icon, who can bring in social change, Dharmendra Pradhan suggested that she should lend her voice to national missions and campaigns like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jal Shakti Abhiyan and putting an end to single use plastic covers.
Talking to media after meeting the Minister, P V Sindhu expressed her happiness for receiving such a warm welcome. She also thanked RINL for extending its support to her.
