Vijayawada: A Dalit woman entrepreneur from Karnataka, Lakshmi Narasimhan fervently appealed to the Chief Minister to rescue her as her life was in danger from certain persons who had taken away her property and threatening her with physical harm.

Lakshmi said that as a native of Machilipatnam in Krishna district she came here to provide employment to the local people, but irreparable damage was done.

Recalling the series of incidents that led to the imbroglio to the media here on Monday, she said that she had taken 147 acres of prawn tanks on lease from Nukala Ramakrishna in Nandivada village near Gudivada in Krishna district for four years at the rate of Rs 90,000 per acre for cultivating prawns.

However, when her employees went to catch the yield of prawns in April last, the catch was already taken away from all the 147 acres by Nukala Ramakrishna and his son Balaji. She immediately rushed to the police and lodged a complaint, but the police did not take the complaint from her at that time.

Now, for the second time, the duo took away the catch of prawns from all the 147 acres. She again lodged a complaint with the police but there was no action against the culprits. They had stolen 150 tonnes of prawns from the tanks, she said.

With the initiative of DGP Gautam Sawang, the police registered the criminal case in October against the accused but there was no follow up to recover the property.

Lakshmi Narasimhan appealed to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to rescue her and do justice.
