Vijayawada: Foreign returnees asked to furnish information to VMC
Vijayawada: Municipal Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh instructed the municipal staff to immediately collect the information of the foreign returnees in the city. He said treating the coronavirus infected people and keeping them in isolation is very important.
The Commissioner conducted a meeting with the officials on Tuesday and enquired about the cases reported in the city and the condition of the infected people. He said the VMC staff or other people can give information to 1800 425 2000 toll free number, BSNL landline number 0866-2422515,2427485, 2424172, 103 number in the VMC, or WhatsApp mobile number 8181 960 909.
He further said the foreign returnees can give information to the VMC voluntarily. Venkatesh warned that cases will be booked under the IPC section 188,269,270 and 271 and impose heavy penalty if the foreign returnees did not inform the VMC about the details of their travel, destination and time. He said some people might not have informed the VMC the details of their returning to the city from abroad.
