Vijayawada: Teachers felicitated to mark Women's Day

Vijayawada: Vijaya Walkers Club president Vijaya Durga has said that womenfolk were coming out of homes crossing the barriers of traditions and culture and proving their mettle in various professions and sectors by doing various types of jobs. She said women are working hard on par with men and successfully fulfilling their responsibilities.

They are breaking the glass ceiling, she added. It is a matter of great pride that women are not only looking after their homes, but also putting a lot of hard work at the workplace, she added.

She felicitated the women teachers of Poornananadampet Municipal Corporation Special Elementary Urdu School, Razia Begum and Muneerunnisa Begum, on Monday to mark the International Women's Day celebrations held on Sunday.

The school head master, M Imam Basha presided over the event. Vijaya Durga and Imam Basha felicitated the teachers presenting shawl and boutique. Parents and students participated in the felicitation programme. Vijaya Durga praised the school staff for imparting quality education to the children by working with zeal and commitment.
