YSRCP leader confident of victory in Vizianagaram

Vizianagaram: Bellana Chandrasekhar, who came into limelight as the YSRCP has announced him as MP candidate from Vizianagaram constituency. On the other hand, senior politician, sitting MP and former Union Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju is contesting from Telugu Desam Party. Chandrasekhar never worked as lawmaker but he was the ZP Chairman of the district and the YSRC high command has chosen him as MP candidate. He expressed confidence over victory in the elections while speaking to The Hans India.
Q: What are the reasons made YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy to select you as MP candidate?
A: My commitment towards society and sincere efforts to uplift party made me the MP candidate.
Q: Do you think that you can compete with senior leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju ?
A: We should mind that unless we got the blessings of public, none will become the leader and not even a sarpanch. Of course, he is a senior leader and Raja of Vizianagaram but I am confident that I have public support and their blessings.
Q: What are your strengths? Why should public vote for you?
A: We are living in 2019 but not in 1919. The public wants to meet their leader to express their agony and demands. As per the public opinion, the leader should be their servant. The public should meet their leader without any obstructions and speak about their problems. Here, we have such atmosphere in our party. But in other parties, we can't expect such condition. A common man can't meet Rajas and Maharajas.
Q: Why should people believe you?
A: The TDP leaders never work for society and always work for their personnel benefits. We, under the leadership of Botcha Satyanarayana, worked for the society. We brought degree college for Cheepurupalli, drinking water and roads for every remote area here. And anyone can meet us at any time. These are some of the examples that we are with people and even the public is with us.
Q: What are the positive aspects with you to win?
A: Our party is giving top priority to backward classes. Except in reserved seats, most seats are allotted for BCs only. But the other parties are giving their seats for royal families and for rich candidates. Ours is party with BCs.
Q: What about your party? What is its role in your journey?
A: Absolutely my party is supporting me a lot. The manifesto, welfare schemes announced by our leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy is the backbone for me. Navaratnalu and other schemes would help me to win in the elections. Nowadays, the people want to see their leader from common society but not from elite, aristocratic society. So, I am much confident over the public that they would bless me, our party.
Q: In which assembly constituencies you are strong?
A: I am believing that we are winning in over five assembly constituencies out of seven in Vizianagaram Lok Sabha constituency. So, I am confident that we are winning with a huge majority. Even the people is thinking of how a daughter Aditi is contesting for Vizianagaram MLA seat and Ashok is for MP of Vizianagaram? Don't they find any others to contest from there? It seems that they are encouraging family politics. The people will oppose such practices.
