Olectra Greentech Limited (OGL), a part of infrastructure major Megha Engineering, on Monday said that it supplied electric buses to multiple cities and states under phase one of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles (FAME-1) announced by the central government to encourage electric vehicles.

Hyderabad: Olectra Greentech Limited (OGL), a part of infrastructure major Megha Engineering, on Monday said that it supplied electric buses to multiple cities and states under phase one of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles (FAME-1) announced by the central government to encourage electric vehicles.

It delivered over 200 electric buses and has orders in hand for over 400 electric buses.

Responding to news appeared in a section of media (not The Hans India), Olectra said that as per FAME-1, demand incentives for 390 electric buses were sanctioned for 10 cities in India which included Mumbai (Maharashtra), Bangalore (Karnataka), Kolkata (West Bengal), Hyderabad (Telangana), Ahmadabad (Gujarat), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Gowahati (Assam), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) and Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir).

Apart from Olectra Greentech, other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland also got orders out of above 10 cities.

OGL is the market leader in the business of electric vehicles and it has bagged orders for electric buses from Himachal Pradesh, Mumbai, Kerala, Pune, Hyderabad and Nasik, it added.
