Kangana Ranaut Shatters Tradition: First Woman To Burn Ravana Effigy At Lav Kush Ramlila Event
- Bollywood's Kangana Ranaut is making history by becoming the first woman to set fire to the Ravana effigy at the iconic Lav Kush Ramlila event in Delhi.
- Discover the significance of this event and the messages it conveys, as well as Kangana's other upcoming film projects.
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has made headlines as she is set to become the first woman to ignite the effigy of Ravana at the renowned Lav Kush Ramlila event on October 24, held at the Red Fort ground in Delhi. Kangana announced this historic occasion on her official Instagram account. In the event's 50-year history, which takes place annually at the iconic Red Fort, this marks the inaugural instance of a woman participating in the symbolic burning of the Ravana effigy. Kangana Ranaut celebrated this momentous occasion with the slogan "Jai Shri Ram."
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena are also expected to attend the event.
The President of the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee, Arjun Kumar, revealed that this year, alongside the traditional effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnath, effigies representing anti-Sanatan forces will be set ablaze in Delhi. This decision is in solidarity with the Women's Reservation Bill, which was passed by Parliament in September.
Typically, the Prime Minister of India participates in the Ravan Dahan ceremony. However, due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's prior commitments related to elections this year, the Lav Kush Ramlila committee extended an invitation to Kangana Ranaut.
Delhi is hosting three grand Ramlilas, organized by the Luv Kush Ram Leela Committee, Dharmik Ram Leela Committee, and Nav Dharmik Ram Leela Committee. These celebrations have been underway at Madhav Das Park and 15th August Park, situated in front of the Red Fort, since October 15 and will continue until October 25, commencing at 6:00 pm daily.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is simultaneously engaged in promoting her upcoming action film, 'Tejas,' which revolves around the remarkable journey of Tejas Gill, an Air Force pilot, and aims to inspire and instill a deep sense of pride in every Indian. The film sheds light on the relentless efforts of Indian Air Force pilots in defending the nation, as they confront various challenges along the way. 'Tejas' is written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 27, 2023. In addition to 'Tejas,' Kangana also has the film 'Emergency' in her upcoming projects.
