June 22, 1990, had an actioner ' Ghayal' with Sunny Deol and Meenakshi Seshadri while the other release was ' Dil' starring the hot pair Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit, both of them rapidly zooming up the popularity ladder then.
'Ghayal' was a film which had family drama, emotions and a baseline revenge theme in which Deol is seen avenging the loss of his elder brother at the hands of a villainous businessman, played by Amrish Puri. 30 years later, Sunny Deol, who is now in his early 60s, can look back with satisfaction as that venture, produced by his home banner, Vijayta Films, turned out to be the second-highest grosser of that year.
Now, he has launched his son Karan Deol whose debut film 'Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas' did not do well, despite reasonable media hype and expectations. Sunny Deol is now a BJP MP from Punjab.
