Not just that, many of you may not know that Deepika's big screen debut was not Hindi movie Om Shanti Om with Shah Rukh Khan but a Kannada film with Sandalwood Real Star Upendra titled Aishwarya. The movie was a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Manmadudhu which featured Nagarjuna Akkineni and Sonali Bendre. Aishwarya was directed by Indrajit Lankesh. Post her debut in Kannada, the model-turned-actor was flooded with offers from Bollywood which meant that she had to dream big and bid adieu to Sandalwood. Not only Kannada, Deepika never worked in any South Indian movies even though there were a lot of rumours about the same. But now, we hear the wish of her fans may just come true soon.

A source in the know says that there is a hush hush attempt to get Deepika on board for not Kannada but a Telugu movie.

It was recently announced that Saaho actor Prabhas was teaming up for a project with Mahanati director Nag Ashwin. The movie will be bankrolled under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner. We hear that efforts are on to rope in Deepika opposite Prabhas. The buzz is that the makers have approached Deepika for the movie but the actres is yet to give her nod to the movie.

Why would Deepika act in a Telugu movie you ask? Well Nag Ashwin to one of the questions on Twitter answered himself that Prabhas is already a pan India star so his project would be a pan World cinema. Now we understand why they are keen on having Deepika.
