Hyderabad: Delhi Public School, Nadergul organised a Blood Donation Camp in association with Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society on Saturday.

The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Tribuvana, Jyoti Turaga Principal, as part of DPS Alumnus association and in memory of her grandmother Late Malka Lakshmi. Speaking on the occasion she said "DPS Alumnus will create a blood donor database. This project aims at maintaining all the information pertaining to blood donors, different blood groups available in each school and reach out to the needy person."

The event was successful with participation of 151 donors comprising of teachers, administrative staff, parents. The chairman speaking on the occasion said that henceforth blood donoation programme will be conducted on Annual basis in all Schools. It was heartening to see so many people coming together for a noble cause. The donors included many first timers, and for others, it was an act of repeated generosity. The donors were delighted to be contributing towards children in need of blood and save them from deep crisis situation.

The Thalesmia Society was immensely appreciative of the kind gesture. Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society is a registered NGO (Reg. No. 5359 Dt. 22 Oct 1998) established in 1998 with a vision to take care of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia patients.
