Twenty-eight headmasters of schools in Kapra mandal were on Tuesday given training in the management of library books as part of the ‘Room to Read Headmasters’ Training. Mandal Education Officer Sridhar, Programme Associate Praveen Kumar, and Coordinators Vishwam, A Ashvini, Padmasri were present.

Kapra: Twenty-eight headmasters of schools in Kapra mandal were on Tuesday given training in the management of library books as part of the 'Room to Read Headmasters' Training. Mandal Education Officer Sridhar, Programme Associate Praveen Kumar, and Coordinators Vishwam, A Ashvini, Padmasri were present.

The programme aims to ensure continuation of libraries by providing to each library 700 and 450 books in the first and the second years of their existence. It intends to create interest/knowledge on books among children through story books, drawing/painting.

The MEO told the gathering that the programme would help create interest in reading as also '3 Rs'. Praveen Kumar observed that the programme would enable students to emerge as independent readers by borrowing the books of their choice. The participants explained the programmes being conducted by their respective libraries.
