Announce precautionary dose for 18 plus youth: Harish Rao

State Health Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya seeking precautionary or booster dose for all the above 18 years of age.
Hyderabad: State Health Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya seeking precautionary or booster dose for all the above 18 years of age.
He also urged the Union Health Minister to reduce the gap between the second dose and booster dose of Covid-19 vaccine from nine months to six months and the interval time between second dose and precautionary dose for health care workers to three months.
In his letter to the Union Health Minister, Rao also requested the Union Health Ministry include senior citizens above 60 years of age for the precautionary dose irrespective of comorbidities. He further stated in the letter that the above requests can enable the State government to protect the population from severe morbidity and mortality associated with the Covid-19 virus. Mentioning that the requests are based on the booster dose policies being implemented in countries like the USA and UK.
