Appreciating art and craft

Daira Centre for Arts and Culture presents a special viewing of paintings and a unique art and appreciation workshop that will flare up your imagination. The focus of the hour-long workshop is to indulge in different art-related activities and take home your own handiwork.

The agenda of the painting workshop is

1. Viewing of the displayed artworks
2. Interaction with the artist Palakshi Dass, conductor of the workshop
3. Identification and sorting out of different styles by the participants guided by the artist
4. Selection of style and techniques opted by the participants based on their discussions with the artist
5. Finishing the painting with the support and guidance of the artist

Palakshi Dass, a Hyderabad-based textile artist and writer, completed her MFA in History of Art along with textile design from the Viswa-Bharati, Santiniketan. She worked with the Weavers Service Centre of Hyderabad under the Ministry of Textiles.
