The committee members of Lal Darwaza Sri Narsimhavahini Mahankali Temple called on the newly elected American Telangana Association (ATA) president Vinod Kukunoor at his Hyderabad residence for inviting him for Bonalu festivities to be held in the first week of July.

Lal Darwaza: The committee members of Lal Darwaza Sri Narsimhavahini Mahankali Temple called on the newly elected American Telangana Association (ATA) president Vinod Kukunoor at his Hyderabad residence for inviting him for Bonalu festivities to be held in the first week of July.

The committee led by its president, Tirupathi Narsing Rao, comprised vice-president, K Venkatesh, treasurer G Aravind Kumar and others. Vinod assured the delegation of attending these festivities in Old City.

Later, the president of the committee informed that the festival was being celebrated in the month of 'Ashadha' at Lal Darwaza in Old City from July 2 to 4. "This temple is a century-old and the festival is conducted on a grand scale and it is the practice of temple to invite important dignitaries for participation in the celebrations, which is attended by lakhs of devotees," he said.

The temple committee which is gearing up for Bonalu festivities to be held at grand scale in Old City will also be organising the festivities from July 2 to 4 for the straight fourth year at New Delhi. For the last three years, the Mahankali Bonalu Festival is also being celebrated in New Delhi at Telangana Bhavan on a grand scale, which also showcases the Telangana culture in the national capital.

On this occasion, a good number of devotees will be attending the celebrations. During the occasion, a photo exhibition, Ghata Pratishthapana and Bonalu celebrations will be held at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi. A Bangaru (Gold) Bonam will also be offered to the Goddess, he Narsing Rao said.
