As many as 70 workers and officers donated blood during the day. Among those present were union leaders P Panduranga Reddy, N Srinivas Rao, B Pradeep Kumar, M Sathibabu, committee members and staff.

Ramayya announced that to mark the anniversary year-long welfare and social activities would be taken up. There would be a programme every month, besides holding 'Haritat Haram' with a slogan 'we can't give assets, we will give oxygen'. He said during the last 35 years the organisation and the union were taking care of its employees and were ahead in conducting social service programmes like, at times of drought, extending financial assistance, providing fodder for cattle and running gruel centres by the union.

According to Ramayya, at times of natural disasters and farmer suicides, the union conducted social programmes to prevent them, standing as an example for other trade unions.
