Chain snatcher awarded 1-yr Rigorous Imprisonment
The XVII MM Court At Maheswaram sentenced one person, Amul Kolekar (27), to one year rigorous imprisonment. It also imposed a fine of Rs 500 on him.

According to police, on February 25, 2018 a complaint was lodged by one G Yadamma (45) in which she stated that while she was on way to her relative's house at nearby colony on foot, two unknown offenders came on motorcycle accosted her and snatched a gold chain weighing about 4.5 grams.
On receipt of complaint, Adibatla police registered a case under Sections 392 & 411 of IPC and took up investigation. Soon, they threw a dragnet and arrested him. After completion of investigation, a chargesheet was filed in the court and during the trial, the court convicted and later awarded the sentence.
