Citizens' Swachh act as Secunderabad Cantonment Board, Military Engineer Service dither
The residents of Sainikpuri and neighbouring areas took up Swachh seva and cleared debris here on Sunday. As many as 15 members including senior citizens joined the Shramdaan.

"We were forced to undertake this drive because of lack of response from the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) and the Military Engineer Service (MES)," said C S Chandrasekhar, Secretary of Federation of North-Eastern Colonies of Secunderabad.
It may be noted that the road leading to Gough Road which was in bad condition was repaired only after the residents of FNECS residents took it upon themselves to fill potholes. On Sunday, the participants held placards calling authorities to fill the potholes.
Armed with hacksaws and shears, the group which included many retired officers cleared debris, shifted a fallen tree that was causing inconvenience. Commuters traveling from AOC junction to Harmony Chowk were facing hardship.
