Overflow of drainage has become a common sight for the residents of Uppal. The condition of roads has become a serious cause of concern to the locals and the commuters travelling from this area.
Uppal: Overflow of drainage has become a common sight for the residents of Uppal. The condition of roads has become a serious cause of concern to the locals and the commuters travelling from this area.
The entire road gets filled with drainage water often, and, there have been cases of people skidding and falling on the roads of Uppal. Add to it, due to recent rains, the conditions of roads got worse which have made it difficult for the locals to come out of their houses.
The stagnant drainage water has also been causing unpleasant smell and mosquitoes in the area, which is harmful for the children and the elderly people as well. Speaking to The Hans India here on Friday, the locals also said that around six months back, the condition of the drainage system was so bad that overflowing drainage formed a 'pond' in the area. "We have been informing about the issue for the past several months, but it is being ignored by the authorities," the locals lamented.
